The CAWBC invites beginning entrepreneurs and business veterans to our events and classes. Experience valuable networking time, tap into valuable resources and learn how to grow your bottom-line profitability. Computer Skills Training Classes - FREE
9/3/10 – Basic Word; 9/24/10 – Basic Excel – 9:00-11:00am
This hands-on setting allows you to start new or increase your computer skills with step-by-step instructions. Held at the offices of our training resource partner, Family Guidance Center, 118 Aquarius Drive, Suite 118 (off Oxmoor in the Barber office park). SBA 8(a) Workshop - FREE
First Tuesdays 1:00-3:00pm
The 8(a) program is SBA's effort to promote equal access for socially and economically disadvantaged individuals to participate in the business sector of the nation's economy. Socially and economically disadvantaged individuals include Black Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, Asian Pacific Americans, and Subcontinent Asian Americans. Individuals not members of these minority groups who can demonstrate that they are socially and economically disadvantaged also may be eligible. Minority Business Enterprise Certification Orientation - FREE
First Tuesdays 11:00am-1:00pm – Lunch provided
Becoming a certified Minority Business Enterprise provides you with valuable resources to help your business grow and succeed. The South Regions Minority Supplier Development Council (SRMSDC) can offer your business an excellent opportunity to meet with corporate buyers who are interested in working with qualified MBEs. To achieve MBE certification your business must be at least 51% ethnic minority owned defined as any business having owner(s) belonging to the following minority groups: African-American, Hispanic-American, Native American, Asian and Pacific Islander American (Asian-Indian included). QuickBooks 101 – 9/9/10 - $20
Bring your laptop loaded with QuickBooks and learn QuickBooks basics, how to setup up your books and other good tips and tricks which will help you give back time to your business while simplifying the bookkeeping process. Our session encourages you to share your insight with others as it relates to your financial well-being and learn from some real-life scenarios women face. We provide actionable ideas to help you establish & maintain your own financial security. Come together to learn from and support the women in this community!
